What Is Profhilo?
If you are worried about your skin becoming looser, more stretchy, dry, or wrinkly then a Non-Surgical Profhilo treatment is for you. Profhilo is fantastic for improving skin texture, reduce laxity and improve the ‘snap-back’ feeling of your skin. It’s a non-invasive, non-surgical way, to infuse 100% Hyaluronic acid into your skin to give you a dewy air-brushed look.
Profhilo (short for PRO-Filler and HY-Luronidase) is a new injectable treatment. Which has been described as a “game changer” in the anti-ageing industry. Its purpose is to treat tissue laxity. Which means it essentially turns back time on your skin.
This revolutionary treatment works by stimulating collagen. Elastin and adipocyte production to make your skin look tighter and smoother. Profhilo also works to improve the texture of your skin and leave you with a plumper, more youthful appearance.
How Does Profhilo Work?
Profhilo is made of 100% hyaluronic acid. But this is not the same as dermal fillers. Its role is to hydrate your skin and provide a remodelling effect. It’s injected into the deeper layers of your skin, the Dermis, to give you an anti-ageing effect without appearing obvious or fake. The injections are given in a technique called Mapping and provides an overall lift with natural results.
One of its unique features is that Profhilo doesn’t involve the use of cross-linking agents. Which means it has a natural consistency once injected into your skin.
Its main role is to improve the quality and condition of your skin where it starts to sag or wrinkle. It works by stimulating collagen and elastin production within your skin. This means that the treatment can take some time to produce. Its full results, however, the effects are believed to last for up to 6-months.
Some people will have top-up treatments after 6-months. However, you can have additional treatments at any time if you wish.
What to Expect from your Profhilo Treatment?
Profhilo is a revolutionary product that has been developed using Hyaluronic Acid. Which is a naturally occurring molecule within the skin. The product can be made to suit individual skin types, and it works as a lifting agent for the face as well as filler.
Profhilo contains no cross-linking and has a unique property of stimulating four different types of collagen and elastin production.
A small amount of Profhilo (2 x 5ml syringes) is used to treat the whole face. The injection points are placed across the surface of the face, giving an even distribution of product throughout the skin’s layers.
While the product is being injected, you may experience a small amount of discomfort or stinging, but this clears quickly, and you leave the clinic pain free. As the treatment is injected just beneath the skin to target the correct skin cells, you will see and feel small lumps on the face after the treatment. This will be the product starting to diffuse across your skin, filling it with moisture and goodness. These little lumps generally only last between 3-24 hours.
You will see results within a week with your skin becoming more supple and smoother. You will need 2 Profhilo treatments
How Long does Profhilo Last?
The treatment itself is simple, it only takes about 30 minutes and you can return to normal activities immediately. It works by injecting hyaluronic acid under the skin to help it retain moisture and improve its elasticity.
Profhilo generally lasts 6 months if 2 treatments are given one month apart. After the initial treatments, we recommend coming back to see us every 6-9 months. Then only one syringe is needed, as we will be simply topping up the skin’s hydration and glow.
Because Profhilo works by stimulating collagen and elastin formation in your skin, it will ultimately work better the more you do it. We suggest people who have been doing Profhilo for a while then start to space out their treatments even further, as they are getting such good results and their skin has improved so much!
The best way I can describe this product is that it gives your skin a ‘drink’ of water! It really helps to give your skin back that healthy glow and plumpness that you may have lost over time or with age. In my opinion, it’s a great alternative to fillers.”
